This looks like sand on a beach but this is actually trash as art. Glass "pebbles" along with abandoned metals (some with newfound patina) have washed up from an old dumpsite nearby, showing that decades of weather, too, can make art. This is Glass Beach in Port Allen, Kauai.

beautiful! i didn't know there was a glass beach in hawaii.
you know, we have a glass beach in northern california!
it is in the town of FORT BRAGG, about 3 hours north of where we live.
next time you guys come out, we should plan an over night and go there. google it, it really is amazing.
Thanks Rebeca, I did not know that. In fact I had never heard of such a thing until this beach in HI! Will be making a trip out out to CA in May, maybe we can meet up!
