What I did with those wine cork frames...

Life's Journey
original collage in a wine cork frame with Fleur de lis. I love the Quote:
"Above all, do not lose your desire to walk: every day I walk myself into a state of well-being and walk away from every illness; I have walked myself into my best thoughts, and I know of no thought so burdensome that one cannot walk away from it...but by siting still, and the more one sits still, the closer one becomes to feeling ill...Thus if one just keeps walking, everything will be all right."
-Soren Kierkegaard
letter to Jette (1847)

I can't say that walking cures every burden but I do know that when I get out and excercise everyday be it walking, hiking, running, mountain biking, skiing, snowshoeing, or kayaking. I feel much better physically, even if I started out tired; I come back energized and some of my best idea's come to me while I am outdoors.

Original plein air painting

A New Adventure Every Day
This was a painting that I had done a few years ago and decided to collage some things over it to make it all about Idaho. Because this is how I feel about my (relatively) new home. In Texas I didn't get to do all the cool outdoor adventures everyday for a number of reasons.
  1. I lived in the middle of a large city
  2. I taught full time
  3. Went to grad school and wrote a thesis
  4. and raised 2 children
As I tell people when I am exhibiting my art; I used to be the teacher, now I  get to have all the fun- make art and play outside.

What a great use of wine corks! I love your Idaho piece, I'm a native Idahoan, and live in the Boise area.
