Elephants Excursion

This piece was inspired by my trip to Nepal in 1997. And the fact that my youngest daughter collects elephants. (don't tell her I snatched one)

KInky Keys

While browsing through a local antique shop I came across this pin-up girl playing card with the letter "K" This was of course going to be the cornerstone for my piece on K. Original title was Key to my Heart but to fit my self imposed criteria it was changed to Kinky Keys.

Global Garden

Globe, gold tone vase, flat stone, silk flower, vintage hardware. With so much talk about Global Warming, I wanted to make something with a positive connotation, Global Garden.

Frida Fun

As an art teacher one of my favorite artists to teach about is Frida Kahlo. So much of her art is centered on her pain, that I wanted to show a "fun" side, and besides this one was fun to make. Her home in Mexico was painted blue so I painted the wooden box blue and the sides are collaged with lotto pictures. The flowers on top are a tribute to the flowers she wore in her hair. I used to live on the Texas/Mexico Border and have collected many Mexican trinkets over the years.
